It's hard to believe that the summer is nearly over. My summer discussions with Mrs. Rippole have come and gone just as fast.

This month we explored the topic of Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs). Students are encouraged to participate in SAEs as n optional 9th period class for credit. A few ways students can receive support for their SAE from the Derry Area High School Ag Department by:
- Leasing space in the barn for animal projects,
- Utilizing the aquaponics lab and equipment,
- Applying to be the Ag Department Student Worker,
- Asking the Alumni Chapter for financial support, and
- Applying for the SAE grant.
I was fortunate to conduct 2 SAE visits with Mrs. Rippole and Mr. Campbell during my visit in June. We visited a student with an internship SAE at Laurel Nursery and a student with an entrepreneurship SAE marketing hogs.
